Ravi Shashtri - India's Team Director till T20 World Cup 2016

BCCI advisory committee has retained Ravi Shastri as the Team Director of the Indian cricket team till the end of 2016 T20 World Cup. He started his tenure as the Team Director in August 2014. His recent achievement was India's win over Sri Lanka in a test series in Sri Lanka. The advisory committee consisting of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly acknowledged the team's performance and the efforts of the coaching staff. Sanjay Bangar (assistant coach, batting), Bharat Arun (bowling consultant) and R Sridhar (fielding coach) will also continue their services till the end of T20 event to be played from 11th March to 3rd April in India.

No matches for Pakistan in Maharasthra

BCCI has decided not to play Pakistan in Maharashtra. Following a stiff protest from one of the political parties in Maharashtra against Pakistani players participating in any sports such as hockey or kabaddi in Maharastra, the BCCI had to take such a decision. Hence Pakistan cricket teams matches would be held probably at venues like Chennai, Dharamsala, Delhi, Bangalore, Mohali and Kolkata.  There could be a probability that Pakistan could be scheduled to play at Wankhede in Mumbai for one of the four last matches if they reach the semi finals. But BCCI has ensured that they will draw it in such a way that Pakistan doesn't have to play any of its matches in Maharashtra. The final to be played at Kolkata in West Bengal won't be of any issue for the team.
