It is always a dream for every cricketer to play for the nation in International cricket. And what's better if you play in a final of any ICC event and win 'Man of the Match' award! This time we would take you down the memory lane to know more about the best performers in five ICC T20 World Cup finals so far.

Irfan Pathan - Man of the Match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007

This T20 world cup started the success story of MS Dhoni. This was his first ICC event assignment and he managed to win it. On 24th September 2007 at Johannesburg, arch rivals India and Pakistan battled it out for the first ever T20 World Cup title. Batting first India scored 157 runs. Pakistan's reply went till the last over where they fell short by just five runs. Irfan Pathan's highly economical spell (4 overs - 16 runs - 3 wickets) gained him Man of the Match award!

Shahid Afridi - Man of the Match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2009

Pakistan played their second consecutive finals, this time they faced Sri Lanka at the Lord's on 21st June 2009. Batting first Sri Lanka scored 138 runs. Pakistan comfortably chased down the total in 18.4 overs with eight wickets in hand. Shahid Afridi was awarded Man of the Match for his all round effort (Bowling - one wicket in four overs, Batting - 54 runs in 40 balls).

Craig Kieswetter - Man of the Match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2010
The mighty Australians faced England in the finals on 16th May 2010 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown in Barbados. Australia could score just 147 runs in the first innings. England chased down the total with three overs to spare and seven wickets in hand. Craig Kieswetter was awarded Man of the Match for his innings of 63 runs in 49 balls. 

Marlon Samuels - Man of the Match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2012

Sri Lanka played their second final, this time against West Indies. The final was held at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on 7th October 2012. Thanks to a brilliant spell from Mendis, West Indies could just score 137 runs. Marlon Samuels was the highest scorer (78 runs in 56 balls). He also did a decent job with the ball as he gave away just 15 runs in four overs and clinched a wicket. Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 101 and Marlon Samuels was declared Man of the Match for his all round performance.

Kumar Sangakkara - Man of the Match in ICC T20 World Cup 2014

MS Dhoni led Indian team played its second final against Sri Lankan team that featured in their third finals. Batting first at Dhaka on 6th April 2014, India scored 130 runs. Virat Kohli continued his good form in this tournament by scoring 77 runs in 58 balls. In return Sri Lanka scored the target in 17.5 overs. Kumar Sangakkara won Man of the Match award for his 52 runs innings (35 balls).
